Magic Marvin secures all three points in Mainz

SV Werder Bremen came out on top on Saturday afternoon and are now on a seven-game unbeaten streak after defeating 1. FSV Mainz 05 1-0 at the MEWA ARENA. Ducksch opened the scoring for the Green-Whites just two minutes after kick-off, and the boys defended tirelessly throughout the first half. The game was neck and neck after the break, with the hosts applying pressure and threatening the Werder goal, but SVW held strong and fought them off until the final whistle, securing their third win on the trot.

Despite this, the Green-Whites were strong out of possession and clinical when attacking, which allowed them to deservedly come out on top in their third game on the trot. WERDER.DE have summarised the reaction to the win.

However, SV Werder are focused on remaining unfazed by the challenge ahead of them, and are intent on picking up points for the seventh game running.

Thursday’s schedule was equally as full, which saw Alvero complete his first training session with the team, before heading straight to the mixed zone to make his first appearance in front of the journalists as a Green-White.
