SV Werder Bremen have the chance to make history during this weekend’s trip to face TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Sunday (3rd March, 17:30 CET). After returning home victorious from Munich, Mainz and Cologne, the Green-Whites now go in search of their fourth straight away win, which would make a new club record in the Bundesliga. Hoffenheim will be feeling confident coming into Sunday’s clash after a 3-2 win at Borussia Dortmund last weekend, as they seek to add to their tally of just two wins on home soil so far this season.

Rafael Borré has been left out of SV Werder Bremen’s squad ahead of their trip to face TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Sunday, 3rd March. The Colombian striker is on the verge of completing a move to Brazilian side Internacional. 

SV Werder head coach Ole Werner and head of professional football Clemens Fritz spoke to the media ahead of the Green-Whites’ game against TSG Hoffenheim on Sunday (3rd March, 17:30 CET). The Green-Whites will face off against the league leaders Bayer 04 Leverkusen at the BayArena on Sunday, 14th April (17:30 CEST), and will then take on VfB Stuttgart at home on Sunday, 21st April (15:30 CEST).

Anthony Jung has been one of SV Werder Bremen’s constants in the 2023/24 Bundesliga season. The 32-year-old has played the second most minutes in the squad and has found a new home at centre-back. His contract has been automatically extended after activating an appearance-based clause. In a WERDER.DE interview, Jung spoke about the current season, his role and his future.

Anthony Jung will remain a Green-White after a clause was triggered to extend his contract, which was caused by the defender making a particular number of appearances for the club.

After the ball hit the back of the net five times at the wohninvest WESERSTADION on Saturday afternoon, Werder came away with a hard-fought point from the 1-1 draw against SV Darmstadt 98. There was a very mixed reaction among the Green-Whites to SV Werder Bremen’s 1-1 draw at home to SV Darmstadt 98 on matchday 23. On the one hand, some were of the opinion that the hosts could have come out on top considering the way the game went, while others were grateful for the luck they were handed after two of the Lilies’ goals were overruled by VAR.
