Moyes will ‘carry on’ at West Ham even if they are relegated from the Premier League

David Moyes will remain at West Ham even if the club are relegated amid speculation that he could be sacked, according to “someone of authority” at the London Stadium.

The Hammers – whose squad has the eight highest market value in the top flight – have had a terrible season with their Premier League future threatened by potential relegation to the Championship.

And now talkSPORT presenter Jim White claims he has talked to a source at West Ham who has insisted that Moyes is likely to stay on even if the Hammers are relegated.

“I’ve been speaking to someone of authority at West Ham,” White said on talkSPORT.

“The feeling there, what is dominating their thoughts at this stage of the season is Premier League survival and winning the Europa Conference League. Those are their targets.

“There is also the feeling that even if West Ham go down, David Moyes would carry on.”

West Ham forward Michail Antonio insists that Moyes’ side are “too good to go down” this season with the players now concentrating on getting to 40 points.

“We have never thought we will go down, during the whole course of this season, during the bad periods and we have never once thought we will be going down,” Antonio told the Footballer’s Football Podcast.

“We definitely know that we are too good to go down. We are too good to go down, off the back of the last two seasons we have had, we have shown the quality that we have.

“We haven’t lost many players from that squad either, so we still have that quality that we have played with from the last two years, so it shows we have the quality to do better – and we will do better.

“We have had that meeting, we are in a relegation scrap. It is not about being pretty or playing the best football, it is about getting the points on the board, no matter how you do it, you just have to get the points on the board.

“That’s where we are and we know we need to fight, we need to scrap. We have a few players who have been in the Premier League for a long time and we know what it takes.”
