The Slovenian top tier side then accused the striker of illegally breaching his contract and sued both him and 1. FC Köln at FIFA for damages. Potocnik’s former club accuse FC of inciting the player to breach his contract. 1. FC Köln defended itself in a comprehensive statement and, in particular, submitted numerous pieces of evidence that refute incitement to breach the contract.

After several months out following a operation on his groin, Bastian Oczipka is back in training with the rest of the Schalke squad. In an interview with Schalke04.de, the 29 year old has opened up about his injury, new competition on the left wing, the Royal Blues’ start to the season and his plans for a comeback.

Bo Svensson was unable to put an exact percentage on where his team are at in Friday’s press conference ahead of his side’s trip to Aue on Sunday (18:30 CEST). The head coach, however, is convinced that his players have made progress since the training camp in Grassau. “We are where I believed we would be at at this point in time. We are further along than at the end of the training camp and we are ready for the challenges that lie ahead.”

The international break is over. Josha Vagnoman made his debut for Germany, Silas for DR Congo, while Konstantinos Mavropanos played every minute.
