Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram is on the brink of announcing his next club, with several Premier League clubs set to miss out on his signature, according to reports.

The France international is in huge demand this summer, with his Gladbach contract set to run out, so he will become a free agent and potentially could become one of the best bargains in recent years.

Indeed, Thuram has a lot of admirers in England, with Chelsea seeing a January offer for the 25-year-old rejected, with the Blues maintaining their interest ahead of next season.

As well as Chelsea, the Frenchman has also found himself heavily linked with Tottenham, with Antonio Conte’s side allegedly concerned about potentially losing Harry Kane –

However, the London rivals are not alone in their interest, with reports suggesting that Erik ten Hag wants to bring Thuram to Manchester United, while Aston Villa are also trying to muscle their way into the debate, with Unai Emery set to receive financial backing for summer transfers.

It’s not just Premier League clubs who are interested in Thuram, either. Both Juventus and Inter Milan are thought to be keen on the attacker, with Atletico Madrid and Barcelona also credited with an interest.

However, it seems that Thuram will ultimately disappoint all of those potential suitors, by opting to stay in Germany.

This is according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who claim that the World Cup finalist will join Bayern Munich in the coming months.

The Bundesliga giants have been without a prolific centre-froward since Robert Lewandowski joined Barcelona at the beginning of the current campaign.

While Eric Choupo-Moting has been in excellent form this term, netting an impressive 14 goals so far, their need for someone to fill Lewandowski’s shoes is clear to see.

Interestingly, Tottenham captain Kane has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern in recent months, but as mentioned, fresh progress on contract talks now makes that move unlikely.

However, as per the report, Bayern have now decided to sign Thuram as an alternative, with the fact that he is available on a free transfer thought to be key in their decision.

With chance creators like Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry and Jamal Musiala among Bayern’s ranks, the attacker will no doubt have plenty of chances to score goals.

Thuram will hope that a move to the Bundesliga league leaders will help to cement his place in Didier Deschamps France squad, with many players currently competing for a spot.
