A delegation of New York Red Bulls visited Leipzig

Leipzig – New York, a connection made in “Red Bull” that only grows stronger.

A few months ago, Emil Forsberg signed for New York Red Bulls from RB Leipzig, while the exchange with NYRB already started a few years ago, with the hosting of RBL Soccer Camps in the NYC area and with the help of the MLS franchise. Now this exchange gets even deeper – because the knowledge exchange expands to the youth sector.

It’s not the first time New York Red Bulls visits with some youngsters, but this time a big delegation landed in Germany for a proper visit. A delegation of coaches and youngsters visited Leipzig and the RBL training center for a week mid-April. An exchange focus on learning more about the innovation side of RB Leipzig and nurturing talents, with the U-13 and U-14 teams having the chance of visiting another Red Bull Arena as well – the one in Leipzig, where they assisted to the 3-0 home win against VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.

Not just observing, though – because the youngsters from New York had the chance as well to measure themselves against local teams. New York Red Bulls faced first Hallescher FC and RB Leipzig here in the city, and then squared off against SC Staaken and Hertha BSC in Berlin the following day. Maybe we’ll see some of them playing on the biggest stage of German football one day.
