Silas has agreed a loan move to FK Crvena Zvezda until the end of the 2024/25 season. Over the past five years the 25-year-old has made 132 appearances for VfB, registering 35 goals and 21 assists, but he will now play for the club’s UEFA Champions League opponents, who are based in Belgrade, for the remainder of the current campaign.
Board member for sport Fabian Wohlgemuth: “We have been examining a possible transfer for Silas very intensively over the past few days. We are well aware of Silas’ qualities but there is a great deal of competition for places within our squad this season. We fully understand that every player wants as much game time as possible. In the end, we agreed in open discussions that a loan move is a sensible solution for everyone involved given the current situation. We would like to thank Silas for the path we have travelled together over the past few years, and wish him all the best for the coming season.”
