The votes have been counted: Manuel Riemann is the VfL fans’ player of the first half of the season! In his first year in the Bundesliga, the keeper has impressed with spectacular saves and performances. In total, Manu managed to keep five clean sheets, with 66 shots on goal saved. This is the third-best rate of all Bundesliga goalkeepers.
That alone is a good enough reason for the blue and white fans to vote for the ‘keeper their winner by a wide margin. Just under 5,000 supporters voted, with 54.62% of those votes going to Riemann. Second place went to high-flyer Erhan Masovic (12.71%) ahead of captain Anthony Losilla (10.60%).
