VfL Football Development Program off to a flyer!

The VfL Bochum 1848 Soccer School has got off to an excellent start in Vietnam in the last few weeks. More than 60 enthusiastic children and almost 20 coaches regularly take part in the online courses. Numerous media outlets, such as Ho Chi Minh City TV, have already reported on the activities on site, ensuring wide coverage in Vietnam. The program was opened by VfL legend Dariusz Wosz. During the live digital sessions, he was also available to answer the many questions from the participants.

“The digital program is outstanding and exceeds our expectations. For example, our children trained for the first time with a tennis ball and soccer ball at the same time and had great fun with the exercises. These exercises are also special for our coaches, who all learn many new methods here. We thank VfL Bochum for their trust and are very happy about the great response,” says Hoi Anh, founder and managing director of the local partner VJSS, which runs a large football academy in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with over 2,500 children.

Another special highlight was on the training schedule for those taking part just before Christmas. The German football freestyler Jannik Singpiel, better known as “jannikfreestyle” with over 1.2 million followers on TikTok, showed the Vietnamese children his extraordinary freestyle tricks. In a very entertaining live training session, the participants were able to rehearse numerous new tricks such as “Around the world” or “Neck hold”.
