3-1 friendly win against Bocholt

The third friendly within a week. Newcomer Philipp Förster, Danilo Soares, as well as Takuma Asano and Jacek Goralski are missing for today’s test match against the Oberliga champions 1. FC Bocholt. 5′ Double pass in the hosts’ sixteen by Stöger and Zoller. Stöger puts the ball into the middle, but the 1.FCB keeper can parry.

7′ Chance for 1.FC Bocholt but the ball flies over the goal of Manuel Riemann.

8′ Big chance for Bocholt. Römling is outplayed, but Riemann keeps strong with his foot.

9′ Strong pass to Holtmann, who tries to push the ball into the far corner, but the FCB keeper can deflect the shot to the side.

12′ Header by Philipp Hofmann, which goes just past the right post. The cross came from Saidy Janko.

21′ Gerrit is on the left side, passes the ball flat into the middle, but the defender can clear before the incoming Simon Zoller.

23′ Riemann tries to knock away Lampropoulus’ back pass, but the 1.FCB striker is able to put his foot in between and the ball luckily goes past the goal.

33′ Kevin Stöger puts through to Philipp Hofmann, but he fails against the opponent’s keeper. Best chance so far for our VfL.

40′ The hosts break through on the left side. The low cross finds a taker, but the shot just misses Manuel Riemann’s goal.

41′ Gerrit is alone in front of the goalkeeper after a well-timed pass from Hofmann, but the goalkeeper can clear the ball with a strong reflex for a corner.

42′ Nice interplay between Saidy Janko and Zolli, who plays the ball from the right side of the penalty area flat into the sixteen, but the ball goes past everyone.

43′ Chance for 1.FC Bocholt. Finish from the right-hand corner of the sixteen. The ball goes just past the VfL goal.

54′ The opposing striker runs alone towards Paul Grave, lays the ball off to his teammate, but the pass was too weak and poses no major challenge to Grave.

56′ Goal for VfL. Beautifully put through by Stöger and Jordi Osei-Tutu pushes the ball past the goalkeeper into the short corner.

58′ Substitution for VfL. Stöger leaves, Tarsis Bonga comes on.

63′ Double pass between Römling and Bonga at the sixteen. Moritz brings the ball in flat, but the FCB keeper Ganvoula gets ahead and grabs the ball.

73′ Goal for VfL. Jordi is on the right side and passes the ball to Ganvoula, who is able to shoot in the second attempt.

77′ Free kick from the center of the home team’s sixteen. Jimmy hits the ball superbly, but the goalkeeper of 1.FCB parries and can direct the ball to the crossbar out of bounds.
