The DFL have scheduled matchdays 26 to 29 for the 2022/2023 Bundesliga season. The home games against TSG Hoffenheim and SC Freiburg will take place on Sunday. The away matches at FSV Mainz 05 and Hertha BSC will both be on Saturday at 15:30 CEST.

Head coach Ole Werner addressed the media during his pre-match press conference ahead of the away game against FC Augsburg. “They are a team who will look to interrupt the game with lots of tackles,” he said. A total of 3,500 fans are expected to travel to Saturday’s game to support the Green-Whites.

It wasn’t just the crowd who were pleased with Schmidt, as teammate Marvin Ducksch made an effort to come over to the midfielder as he was heading off the field to congratulate him. He described his first Bundesliga goal at the wohninvest WESERSTADION as ‘unbelievably emotional and relieving’.
