Head coach Ole Werner: “We didn’t manage to make clear decisions in important situations. We were by no means the worse team, all the statistics speak for that, but we weren’t as effective as Augsburg today. We had chances to take the lead ourselves and could have decided the game for ourselves. We brought it on ourselves today.”

Marco Friedl: “We had a few problems in the first ten minutes. We knew that it would be a chaotic game with lots of long balls. We were asleep at the start of the second half. Augsburg used their only chance of the half in the 46th minute, then we were clearly the better team over the 45 minutes. We caused our own downfall today.”

Niklas Schmidt: It’s difficult straight after the game: we had lots of chances, but we weren’t alert in the decisive moments. My missed chance hurts all the more in hindsight. It is then difficult to chase the lead. We were too careless in the second half, that’s why we lost the game.”

Leonardo Bittencourt: “We conceded two really cheap goals. Augsburg did little to deserve three points. With all due respect, it was quite easy for us today, but we made it even easier for them and that is the frustrating part. Now we have two tough games ahead of us.”
