Over the last several days, a delegation from the City of Bremen, along with representatives from politics, business, sports, and other sectors, has been visiting South Africa. SV Werder Bremen was also part of the trip, which included visits to numerous social institutions, most recently the Hout Bay United Football Community and a Safe-Hub run by AMANDLA. Werder also represented the Bundesliga during the trip.
Although they are released by email, we decided to ease up the process by delivering them to you. Müller also has special promos exclusive to subscribers of his newsletters, so you could sign up as well if you want in on those. Wednesday 1,000 tickets for Ukrainian refugees TSG Hoffenheim have invited 1,000 Ukrainian refugees to the PreZero...
VfB Stuttgart drew 1-1 with Sparta Praha in the club’s first home game of the current UEFA Champions League season.
In the second half of last season, winter signing Julian Malatini had a debut to remember as he came on in the closing stages of the home game against SC Freiburg and then scored his first Bundesliga goal after just two minutes on the pitch. Malatini then marked his first start of this season with a goal last time out at Hoffenheim. Speaking to the press on Wednesday, the Argentine defender looked back on the win in Sinsheim and discussed Werder’s upcoming opponents.
According to the Daily Mail (yeah, we know), Bayern Munich has the following players up for sale this summer:
Due to the expected number of spectators at the stadium and the high volume of traffic, TSG Hoffenheim recommend travelling early and using public transport. Additional buses will be running to the PreZero Arena on Sunday. A shuttle service, which will run every 15 minutes, will take visitors from Sinsheim/Elsenz railway station (from the bus stop on the side facing the railway tracks) to the stadium (Sinsheim-Süd industrial estate, opposite AVR) and back again. A shuttle service has also been organised on various routes to take visitors directly to the stadium from towns in the surrounding area.
Bayern Munich is running the risk of losing Benjamin Pavard this summer and potentially even Lucas Hernandez, though he could still sign a contract extension with Bayern instead of leaving for Paris Saint-Germain.
Matchday 2 of the UEFA Europa League season will see TSG play host to a club that has shaped football. Not necessarily in the modern era, but before the turn of the millennium Dynamo Kyiv were regarded as one of Europe’s most successful clubs, tactical pioneers and an outstanding talent factory. Legendary coach Valeriy Lobanovskyi in particular is closely associated with probably the most glorious capital of the club’s history, when the Kyiv outfit won the European Cup Winners’ Cup and the UEFA Super Cup in 1975. A year earlier, Dynamo had narrowly lost out to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the semi-final of the European Cup. But it was not solely thanks to titles and results that Dynamo made headlines in this period. Lobanovskyi is regarded by many experts and football historians as the founder of the back four – a tactical set-up that has changed football forever.
Nico Willig’s side put in a dominant display against Sparta Praha as they claimed a deserved 3-0 victory.
