FCA trigger option to buy Kristijan Jakić

“I’m glad that FCA have signed me on a permanent basis and that I’ll be able to stay in Augsburg beyond the end of this season. My expectations and hopes following my move in winter have been met. We’ve improved a lot as a team and I played my part in that. I’m convinced that this isn’t all we have to offer – we can still improve. That’s why I’m happy that I’m going to be an FCA player for the foreseeable future,” stated Kristijan Jakić.

“We’re over the moon that Kristijan Jakić has signed a long-term deal with us. Kristijan quickly slotted into the side following his move and proved to be a good fit for the team in terms of his personality and playstyle. He’s ambitious, wants to keep on improving and is committed to helping us take FCA to the next level,” said sporting director Marinko Jurendić.

U23s to play against Ulm in Aalen on Saturday

Last Sunday was a very special day for Dennis Lütke-Frie. The now 20-year-old made his delayed debut in senior football following a one-and-a-half-year spell on the sidelines. Flashback: 29 May 2022 was probably the best day of Dennis Lütke-Frie’s life to date. The midfielder led the BVB U19s onto the field for the German Championship Final, which the Black & Yellows won 2-1 away to Hertha BSC, as captain. He was then promoted to the U23s, where he wanted to hit the ground running. But things turned out differently: a torn lateral collateral ligament and two metatarsal fractures in succession kept the BVB youngster sidelined for the entirety of the 2022/23 campaign and a large part of the first half of this season.

“It’s a good sign if people are sad to see you go”

He knew – as we all did – that it was coming, but there was still a stream of tears on the face of Christian Groß after his final competitive appearance for SV Werder Bremen. As he and his family walked across the pitch at the wohninvest WESERSTADION following that win against Bochum, the emotion around the ground was clear for all to see.
