Engelbreth, the 18-year-old central midfielder and captain of the A-Jugend, has been wearing the Union shirt since 2017, when he joined from VfB Fortuna Biesdorf. He has developed into a key player from the U17s to the U19s and has even added goalscoring to his numerous talents this season. In twelve junior Bundesliga games, the Berlin native has scored six, four of them from outside the box. He also scored in the 4-1 UEFA Youth League match win over SSC Napoli. The midfielder has played in all 18 matches this season and has played a major role in them reaching third place in the table.
Emre Can (to ZDF): “It’s simply not good enough from us as a team. We were lacking at the front and the back today. We were not strong enough in the challenges. It was a catastrophe on a footballing level, we have to be honest about that. Off the ball, the way we pressed, not good at all. It cannot continue like this. We’re Dortmund, there needs to be more. We need to sit down together and analyse it. It’s about the footballing aspect and finding solutions. And the pressing is very, very bad. If I compare that with Stuttgart: they press, they’re always there. We need to press more, want it more and have more intensity in our play. That must come from the team and from each individual. The season is still long, we will not give up, we will keep going.”
Sport Bild’s Christian Falk is reporting that Coman, Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe, and Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga could be the primary targets for the summer transfer window if Qatar-backed Sheikh Jassim’s group takes over the club:
As it turns out, however, Tuchel did snap the innocent pole in anger (BFW Editor’s Note: Show us polygraph test, pal!). Instead, he broke the pole in a “symbolic gesture” to “break the duck.”
The team will meet up again on 7th July to begin training ahead of the 2024/25 season. As opposed to previous years, the first training session will take place on a Sunday at the Europa-Park Stadion. In this way, as many SC fans as possible will be able to be present for the start of the new season.
After 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2020/21, TSG Hoffenheim will participate in European competition for the fourth time in 2024/25. Thanks to a seventh-place finish in the Bundesliga, it is certain that TSG will play internationally next season, with only the competition still unclear.
