Gary Neville thinks Erik ten Hag deserves a lot of praise for finding a way to get the best out of Man Utd duo Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils extended their unbeaten run across all competitions to eight games across all competitions over the weekend.

Ten Hag’s side beat Leicester City 3-0 at Old Trafford and Rashford was once again the star of the show. The Englishman scored either side of half-time to place United in control of the game.

Rashford has now been involved in 32 goals in 36 games across all competitions this season.

Sancho was brought on at half-time and he was brilliant during the second half. He got a deserved goal with around half an hour to go following a sublime one-two with Bruno Fernandes.

The winger has put in a couple of promising performances since returning to action and

Neville has praised Sancho, Rashford and Ten Hag. He thinks the head coach has found a “solution” to get both players into the team.

“It’s an interesting position, seeing Sancho at that number 10 in this second half,” Neville told Sky Sports while on commentary duty for the game.

“You would think of Rashford’s best position being on the left or centre forward, neither of them like it on the right. It might be a solution to get them both in.

“Erik ten Hag, we were surprised weren’t we that he moved Rashford out of a central position and put him in there, but it’s working.

“The manager’s seen something in training that he really likes and we’re now seeing it.”

so it is unsurprisingly a “priority” for United to tie the forward down to a new long-term contract.

“Of course [Rashford’s new contract] is a priority,” Ten Hag said.

“We are working on that, just sit and wait, but in the background, we work hard. Of course [we have to keep him].”

He added: “I think the team is in a good place and Marcus is definitely in a good place. We are happy with his performances. He is in such good form. You can keep that if you keep the right energy and put the right investment in.

“Every game you have to take it as a new game. And you know at the moment that when Marcus comes into the position that he will score. When he is happy it gives him energy and a positive mood and then the goals will come. He has such great skills to score goals.”
