VfL Wolfsburg drew 1-1 with Danish league leaders FC Nordsjælland at the Volkswagen Arena in their first friendly of the winter break on Saturday afternoon.
Mattias Svanberg put the Green-and-Whites in front in the 28th minute before Benjamin Nygren equalised in the closing stages of the second half (78′). Niko Kovac’s charges are in action again next week on Saturday 17 December when they take on FC Brentford (kick-off 13:00 CET).
As has been the case in training, the Wolves do not yet have a full squad at their disposal. Yannick Gerhardt and Maximilian Philipp were absent due to illness, Lukas Nmecha remains injured and World Cup participants Jakub Kaminski, Jonas Wind and Koen Casteels are still unavailable. Youth players Lukas Ambros, Manuel Braun, Aurel Wagbe, Vin Kastuell and Max Hermann all took part in their stead.
