This year’s summer training camp will take place in Austria. 1. FC Union Berlin will head off for 10 days to prepare for the new Bundesliga and Europa League campaign in Neukirchen am Großvenediger. Like in previous seasons, our partners at Sonnenschutz.de will present the training camp.
In the highest speaks of Salzburg
While Union remain in Austria for pre-season training, the location has changed. Neukirchen owes its name to the highest border mountain in Salzburger Land. At 3,657 metres, the Großvenediger, south of Neukirchen, is Austria’s fifth highest mountain. This presents ideal conditions for intensive, warm-weather preparation.
Union will stay at Das Neukirchen from July 11 to 20. Urs Fischer’s squad will train at the facilities of USC Neukirchen. The region has hosted teams for pre-season before, including Schalke 04 who regularly prepare at a camp in Mittersill, which is a 15-minute trip from Neukirchen. Leverkusen is meanwhile less than an hour away.
1. FC Union Berlin have scheduled two bounce games during the camp – on July 15 and 16. Further information on opponents and location will follow in due course.
