Leonidas Stergiou has joined VfB on loan for the season from FC St. Gallen, where he began his career as a youth player. The 21-year-old defensive specialist made 139 appearances in the Swiss Super League, and has earned 18 caps for Switzerland U21s.
VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth: “We’ve been following Leonidas Stergiou’s development for a long time. He’s already gained valuable experience in the Swiss Super League and with Switzerland’s U21 side. We offer Leonidas a warm welcome to VfB and are looking forward to the future together.”
