The Champions League returns to Leipzig! RBL prepare to host Manchester City in the round of 16 in the competition on 22nd February (Wednesday, 21:00 CET). 

The match at the RB Arena is sold-out. If you don’t have a ticket, you can check the official RBL ticket exchange, where fans can post their tickets if they can’t make it to the game. 

Read on for all the relevant information for away fans attending the match in Leipzig. 
 

Ticket Exchange

IMPORTANT INFO:   

  • Please plan for an early arrival to the stadium 
     
  • Ideally use public transport
     
  • Park within the city using the park and ride spots and try not to park in the vicinity of the stadium. 
     
  • Due to various trade fairs within the city, only select park and ride locations and parking garages within the city are available to use. 
     
  • Use alternative means of transport (tram, bus, rental scooter or rental bicycles etc.) or walk from the car parks to the RB Arena. 
     
  • After the game, please use the exits marked “Stadionvorplatz” and “Rosengarten,” in order to avoid crowding at the “Festwiese” exit that could lead to delays when leaving the stadium.

 

INFORMATION ABOUT RESALE PLATFORM TICKETS: 

  • Tickets that are being sold from non-authorised resellers (i.e. Viagogo, eBay classified ads or eBay) do not guarantee entrance to the RB Arena.  
     
  • The act of offering or reselling tickets is contrary to the General Ticket Terms and Conditions of RB Leipzig.  
     
  • With the help of a law firm, we monitor activity on unofficial ticket resellers. Tickets that are put up for resale on non-authorised ticket resale platforms could lead to the person offering the tickets for sale to be fined up to €2,500.00. 
     
  • In the case of RBL season ticket holders, we reserve the right to cancel the season ticket in question if we determine that these fans are offering tickets for sale on non-authorised ticket resale platforms.

ACCESS VIA THE FESTWIESE:

The new pathway via with Festwiese is open for use, allowing fans to arrive at the Festwiese entrance to the stadium.
 

GUIDELINES FOR STANDING SECTION (SECTOR B):

• Sector B is completely sold-out for Wednesday’s match. In order to allow for seamless entry to the stands in Sector B, please note the following information: 

  ◦ The entirety of Sector B is standing section only.

  ◦ The free-seating principle applies within the entirety of Sector B and fans are not entitled to seats in a certain block (the block numbers on the tickets do not matter). 

  ◦ Please spread out throughout the entire Sector B and use the places available (one seat turns into two standing seats).  

  ◦ Please ensure the stairs remain unobstructed.
 

ACCESS TO BLOCKS 6.2 TO 7:

• If your tickets are inBlocks 6.2 to 7, please use the “Rosengarten” entrance in order to access your seats. 

Ideally, if your tickets are in these blocks, we ask that you do not arrive via the Festwiese or Stadionvorplatz. 

Access to these blocks is only possible via Sector D and NOT via Sector C.

AWAY TEAM COLOURS:

• Sectors B and D in the home area are fan blocks. The wearing of away team colours is not permitted here and only fans in RBL fan clothing or neutral clothing will be admitted. 

• Sectors A and C can be accessed in RBL fan clothing, neutral clothing or in away colours. 
 

ARRIVAL AT THE RB ARENA:

EARLY ARRIVAL:

Please plan to arrive early and allow yourself enough time to arrive to and enter into the stadium. 

Ongoing construction work in the city could lead to traffic. In order to avoid this, please avail yourself of the various public transport options available. 
 

CONSTRUCTION AND ARRIVAL INFO: 

Waldstraße closure:

  • Waldstraße is under construction and is therefore fully closed. As a result, the tram stops on Waldstraße will also be bypassed.
  • The Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB) will therefore stop at “Waldplatz,” “Sportforum Süd” and “Marschnerstraße.”

  • Please note that starting three hours before kick off (18:00 CET), only residents will be permitted to access the Waldstraßenviertel

OTHER EVENTS:

There are no other major events being hosted in Leipzig on Wednesday evening. 
 

PARKING:

There will only be a selected number of parking spots available at the Kleinmesse car park at the Cottaweg. 

Parking is available at the Quarterback Immobilien ARENA Leipzig. 

Please note that there are no additional parking options in the immediate vicinity of the stadium.

BIKE PARKING:

On Wednesday, fans will have access to 1,300 free bike parking spots at the Festwiese. 

Bike parking at the Festwiese is open from 18:30 CET up to 90 minutes after full time on matchdays. 
 

WEATHER:

The forecase on Wednesday calls for spring temperatures in Leipzig. In the evening, temperatures could drop below 0°C, with fans advised to keep an eye out for slick surfaces
 

ENTRY TO THE STADIUM:

STADIUM OPENING:

Fans can enter the ground from two hours before the game, so from 19:00 CET on Wednesday against Manchester City. 
 

STADIUM ENTRANCES:

Fans can enter the stadium via three entrances: “Festwiese,” “Stadionvorplatz” and “Rosengarten.” 

If you are arriving with any materials/fan items, please use the far left entrance at the “Festwiese.” 

Please note:  

To enter the stadium, fans only need their digital match ticket on the RBL ticket app.  
 

TICKET INFOS:

RBL TICKET APP:

All tickets will be digital and issued on the RBL ticket app. The QR code will be available from Tuesday from 21:00 CET.

The QR code can only be activated when tickets in the app have been personalised with both a first and last name.

Tip:   

Load your ticket on your phone before you set off to avoid any delays once you are at the ground. 
 

TICKET APP UPDATE: 
  • Please make sure your app is running the latest version. 
  • We have noticed that many fans are still using an older version of the RBL ticket app. 
  • In certain cases, when the RBL Ticket App is running an older version, you will not be able to open your ticket in the app and will instead see a pop-up advising you to update the app. You can do that below: 
     
  • Apple App Store
  • Google Play Store
  • Huawei
     

Reinstalling the app is necessary because older versions cannot be updated anymore. We are constantly working on improvements to our app: please regularly check your app store to make sure your app is the most up-to-date version.

TICKET PERSONALISATION:

Your first and last name is now sufficient to personalise your ticket. 

They are mandatory fields that you have to fill out. All other field, such as date of birth and email address, are not mandatory

Ticket personalisation is only necessary for the use of the public transport.
 

PRESALE & TICKET EXCHANGE:

TICKET OFFICE:

There will be no ticket office on the day. 
 

TICKET UPGRADES:

Concession tickets can be upgraded in the RBL online ticket shop or on match day from 18.45pm at the “Fanhaus” service point (Jahnallee) and at the main ticket office (stadium forecourt). 

Tickets can already be upgraded in the online ticket shop after logging in under “Exchange.”
 

LAP TICKETS:

• Lap tickets will be available for children up to and including the age of three

These can be collected free of charge from the Service Centre or the Service Point at the Fanhaus.
 

STADIUM INFORMATION:

PAYMENT:

• Only cashless payment is possible in the whole of the Red Bull Arena to speed up the service around the ground.   

You can use debit cards and credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Amex) at all kiosks, as well as paying with your mobile phone (Apple Pay, Google Pay).
 

SMOKE-FREE STANDS:

After a number of requests from our fans, we have decided that smoking is no longer permitted in the ground. We want to help families with their children, as well as others, feel comfortable in the stadium. 

• We will be enforcing the smoking ban and take action if people ignore the instructions repeatedly. Please be considerate of others.

In the lower tier of the stands, there are smoking areas marked with a red line behind the last row in stands for those who wish to smoke. 

In the upper tiers, you are allowed to smoke from the bridges leading to the grassy banks and beyond, but not within the stadium perimeter.

CATERING AT THE KIOSKS:

Our exclusive stadium menu is available at six kiosks and eight service windows on Level 5, and is available in four varieties. 

Please note that these meal deals are only purchasable at the marked kiosks and that these kiosks also exclusively serve the meal deals (i.e. an individual Bratwurst cannot be purchased).

Please check to make sure you are queuing at the correct kiosk for your order.

INFORMATION FOR AWAY FANS:

TICKETS:

The away section is sold out and there will not be a ticket office for away tickets on matchday. 

Away fans will receive their mobile tickets from Manchester City
 

AWAY TEAM COLOURS:

• Sectors B and D in the home area are fan blocks. The wearing of away team colours is not permitted here and only fans in RBL fan clothing or neutral clothing will be admitted.
 
Important:
Anyone in the RBL fan blocks who clearly identifies as an away fan (e.g. by cheering for the visiting team) will be asked to leave the stadium.  

PARKING AND SHUTTLE BUSES:

There is no designated parking space for away supporters. Please use the park & ride parking spaces in the city. 

Due to various trade fairs within the city, only select park and ride locations and parking garages within the city are available to use. 

For away fans arriving by train, LVB shuttle buses will be available at the main station (east side) from 17:30 CET from the station to the stadium and back. 

The bus will also drop off on the west side of the main station after the match.
 

GENERAL INFORMATION:

• Away fans will receive mobile tickets. 

Only cashless payment is possible inside the stadium. 

The whole stadium is a smoking-free area. 

Only bags and backpacks with a size of A4 or below can be taken into the stadium.

Power banks are not allowed. 

Food and drink can not be taken into the ground.
