VfL Bochum 1848 have complied with the full DFL licensing criteria and have therefore obtained the licence for the 2022/23 without any conditions. But, the club is to meet requirements in certain areas. For example, in relation to the sports department a new sporting director as a successor for Alexander Richter has to be hired before 1st August 2022.
In terms of infrastructure and media technology the requirements have been familiar. A new floodlights protocol has to be generated and according to the narrow interior measures of the stadium VfL keep playing with an exceptional permission.
The negative equity as a result of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic must not worsen between 31/12/2021 and 31/12/2022, but VfL are actually planning with a positive equity in foresight of the end of the year 2022. The equity requirement comes along with the planning quality, i.e., the compliance of the projected annual result for the 2022/23 season. Here the club is expecting to break even.
