Lino Kasten has left VfL Wolfsburg after seven years at the club. The goalkeeper’s contract has been terminated by mutual consent. The 21-year-old joined the VfL academy in 2015 from Viktoria Berlin, progressing through the U17 and U19 teams and also featuring for the reserves in the Regionalliga. Kasten was loaned to Austrian partner club SKN St. Pölten between July 2021 and June 2022. We wish Lino all the best for his future on and off the pitch.

The Belgian club were usurped by Porto, who made sure of top spot with a 2-1 home win over Atletico Madrid.

Die ARD zeigt am 1. Februar das Spiel zwischen dem FSV Mainz 05 und Bayern München sowie am 7. Februar das hessische Derby zwischen Eintracht Frankfurt und Darmstadt 98. Im ZDF ist am 8. Februar das “kleine Revierderby” zwischen dem VfL Bochum und Borussia Dortmund zu sehen. Anstoß ist jeweils um 20.45 Uhr.

Edin Terzic (at the press conference): “It was a deserved draw. There were lots of scoring opportunities at both ends. We needed a bit of time to find our way into the game; we were not aggressive enough with our pressing and wanted to win the ball back while jogging. We were able to play the game more quickly in the second half, both on the ball and off it too. The substitutions gave us some fresh momentum. But we didn’t manage to score – and gave away too much too. Now it’s about achieving a positive outcome in our final three Bundesliga matches and pooling all our energy. Both Gregor and Mats signalled in the half-time interval that they were experiencing slight problems. We wanted to take absolutely zero risk.”
