We are playing at home, are feeling good, are looking forward to it and are ready for the game. We are unbelievably ambitious about having a good game. This team will run through walls for each other.”

The international break has come to an end for the five Hertha players who were away representing their countries. SV Werder Bremen

Werder win goal fest in Berlin

What a game! SV Werder Bremen beat Hertha BSC 4-2 (2-0). In the first half, the hosts were barely in the game. A brace from Marvin Ducksch (6’, 27’) put Werder firmly ahead, before Hertha stepped up a gear in the second half. Although Marvin Ducksch (51’) scored again and Mitchell Weiser (63’) increased the lead to 4-0, Hertha came back. Jessic Ngankam scored the first goal for the “Old Lady”, before Dodi Lukebakio converted from the penalty spot to make it 4-2 (79’). In the end, however, SVW were too solid in defence and Ole Werner’s side deserved to take three important points back home.
