VfL Wolfsburg

Clear favourites

Based on recent form and the 6-0 drubbing of Freiburg, Wolfsburg are the favourites going into this evening’s game away to Hertha, who slipped to 17th in the table at the weekend after a 3-1 defeat at Bochum. VfL have also had the upper hand in the recent meetings between the two teams.

Borussia Dortmund

Tickets available for the home game against Neptunes de Nantes

After breaking the attendance record in the European League, the BVB women’s handballers are preparing for their next international highlight in March. Having contested the first leg a week earlier, Henk Groener’s team will then take on Neptunes de Nantes at the Westpress-Arena in Hamm at 16:00 CET on Sunday 26/03, with a place in the Final Four up for grabs. Tickets are available via BVB’s official ticket shop from Thursday.

SV Werder Bremen

In a strong position

SV Werder Bremen travel to face Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday night (17/03/2023, 20:30 CET). After suffering back-to-back defeats and having managed 30 points from 24 games, some have started drawing parallels between the club’s relegation campaign two seasons ago and now. It’s a narrative that head coach Ole Werner disputed during the pre-match press conference on Thursday. “We have put ourselves in a strong position going into the final third of the season. We’re looking at how we will be able to be successful in our upcoming games. Our full focus is on the challenge we have, which is to prepare ourselves for a tough opponent,” he said.

It’s derby time, just a short ride on the A40 Autobahn and heading for our neighbouring city. We will be travelling to Dortmund – the second to last away fixture of the season. The first game ended in a 1-1 draw. Here’s the LOOK AHEAD on Borussia Dortmund and #BVBBOC.

FC Augsburg

February: Fans finally return to the stadium

The first game in February coincided with the long-awaited return of fans in the stadium, with 7,600 spectators allowed into the WWK ARENA once again to watch the home game against Union Berlin.

FC Bayern München

Scorching hot Leon Goretzka firing on all cylinders against Mainz for Bayern Munich

The midfielder has been on fire of late and scored once again in Bayern Munich’s 6-2 victory over Mainz 05. For Goretzka, it was good to see the squad wrap up another three points.

Hertha Berlin

Crucial home win over Augsburg!

Sandro Schwarz had put his trust in the same eleven players that had started the previous two games, however, back problems felt during the warm-up forced Márton Dárdai out at short notice. Augustín Rogel stepped in to line up alongside Filip Uremović, who was able to take up his usual position in the head coach’s 3-5-2 formation, despite not completing the full training programme this week. There was a familiar face on the visitors’ team sheet, as Arne Meier returned to the capital.

TSG Hoffenheim

The good shepherd

The year 2023 could hardly have begun better for David Mokwa. After impressing with a series of strong performances in the U19s, he gained an initial taste of life with the first team, as he took part in the squad’s training camp in the Portuguese Algarve – but what was supposed to be an unforgettable journey into the world of professional football turned into a disappointing trip for the attacker.
