U17s stay on track for success with 2-1 win over Paderborn

Coach Marco Lehmann had to shake up his starting line-up once again. The long-term injury absentees (Feddersen, Ngambia, Markötter, Mahjoubi, Hölscher and Held) were joined in the treatment room by Joshua Burstedde and Oliwer Blaszczyk. The attacker sustained a fibre tear and a tendon tear in his thigh in the U19s’ friendly against Zwolle (3-0), while Blaszczyk suffered a fatigue fracture in training. Len Wörsdörfer started at centre-forward, with Justin Hoy in holding midfield and Tim Degener deployed in the left full-back position.

SV Werder Bremen

“Need to make sure we’re on our A-game”

On Saturday, 4th May (15:30 CEST), Ole Werner’s boys will take on Borussia Mönchengladbach at the wohninvest WESERSTADION in what will be the Green-Whites’ 1000th ever Bundesliga game on home soil. The clash on matchday 32 will not only represent an important milestone in the club’s history, but it will also mark the 36th birthday of Werder’s head coach. “I don’t know when the last time I properly celebrated my birthday was,” smiled Ole Werner. “I’m excited to see what’s in store for me this Saturday.”

TSG Hoffenheim

Tohumcu: “The club means a great deal to me”

“Umut Tohumcu delivers. He has established himself within our squad and is definitely a regular.” TSG head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo recently heaped plenty of praise upon the 19-year-old midfielder, who is undergoing a rapid development. Tohumcu moved to the Kraichgau as a 13-year-old, progressed through the youth ranks and has finally matured into a Bundesliga player this season. “The club means a lot to me. I spent my entire youth here and grew up here,” declared Tohumcu in his first major SPIELFELD interview.

The FCB Files: Bayern Munich’s History with Moles

There have been moles in the club — insiders passing on private information to the public/press — as early as the 1990s, with the person whom we always associate with being the mole apparently not the only one to have been one. This series covers six instances where information slipped out and was known by the commonfolk before any official announcement came out.

Union to Clash with Köln

The 16th game of the season is a classic six-pointer between the sides currently in 15th and 16th in the table; they are level on ten points each, on a -16 goal difference, with Union only ahead on goals scored. A win for either side would mean a Christmas spent in the comparative safety of mid-table, whereas a loss would mean a long new year spent with the swirling doubts and fears of a place in the relegation places.

U23s: Eberwein and Papadopoulos to return against Aue

The most recent trip to Aue for the U23s is just under half a year ago – and the players are likely to have good memories of their trip there. In May, BVB headed to the former mining city needing just a point to make it mathematically certain that they would stay up in the Drittliga – and that’s exactly what they got after an action-packed match finished 3-3.

Bayern Munich vs Hertha Berlin: 2022/23 Bundesliga full coverage

Scoring is the biggest issue, and it’s not about to get better with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting expected to be out once again with a knee injury. Mathys Tel probably won’t start so who does that even leave? Honestly, fans would love to see Tuchel try something different this week (that isn’t a back three). Let’s see if he can cook.
