On Saturday afternoon, SV Werder Bremen emerged victorious in their final game of the 2023/24 season against VfL Bochum at the wohninvest WESERSTADION. With the hosts only being one up at the break through an early opener from captain Marco Friedl (6’), Anthony Jung (78’), Jens Stage (80’) and Romano Schmid (88’) put the game to bed by bagging three more in the space of ten minutes. Christopher Antwi-Adjei did, however, manage to score a consolation goal in the midst of Werder’s celebrations (85’), yet the Green-Whites remained in control and ran out as winners in their last outing of the campaign, finishing the league in a very respectable 9th place.
