Dion Beljo moves on loan to Rapid Vienna
Striker heads to Austria in search of match practice
FCA attacker Dion Beljo was not in training on Monday. Instead, the 22-year-old Croatian forward, who joined Augsburg in January 2023 from Osijek and has played 44 Bundesliga games (5 goals, 3 assists) for the club, has moved on loan for a season to Austrian side SK Rapid Vienna. The clubs have agreed that the details of the loan will remain undisclosed.
“My aim for my loan move to Vienna is to get more minutes, have a hand in more goals and start more games. I would like to thank everyone involved for making this loan deal possible, and I’m looking forward to the new season with Rapid,” said Dion Beljo, whose contract at FCA is still valid until 30th June 2027.
“Dion is a young striker with lots of potential. This loan move to Rapid Vienna should provide him with lots of match practice, something he didn’t get to the extent we all wanted last season. That’s why a loan is the best option for him. It allows him to showcase his skills on a regular basis and to play consistent football. We would like to wish Dion a successful season and hope he can score lots of goals in Austria,” commented FCA’s sporting director Marinko Jurendic.
