Kramarić: “We need more points”

Andrej Kramarić: “It was a difficult match today. I’m never satisfied with one point, but both teams defended well today. The pitch was in a very bad condition. There were many long balls and intense challenges. It was very difficult. I’ve been playing for Hoffenheim for almost nine years, I don’t think we’ve ever gone this long without scoring a goal in the Bundesliga. But if we keep working as we did today, it will happen again. I’m dissatisfied because we should have more points. Then the table would look very different. But small details are decisive in the Bundesliga.”

Oliver Baumann: “It’s good that we kept the clean sheet, but the game was too open. Not everything was good. We had gaps in the midfield. There were too many counters in which we put the draw at risk. We wanted to win, you could see that. We defended well overall, but Augsburg also had good opportunities with 10 minutes remaining. We’re currently on our last legs. A few percentage points were missing. We can’t be completely satisfied with that. After the international break, we have to go on the attack again and pick up points.”

Pellegrino Matarazzo: “We expected Augsburg to go forward quickly, but they were very lively and that’s why we switched things around. Augsburg were the better team in the first half. We were better in the second half, but we were lacking that final punch to win a game like this. Nonetheless, it is positive that we kept a clean sheet.”

Andreas Schicker: “We saw two different halves. We were better in the second half, but we were missing the final punch. When it comes to commitment and passion, I cannot make any criticism of the team. We should have converted our superiority in the second half into goals. After 10 matches, we have nine points and are in danger of relegation. We need to improve upon that. There has been a development, but the points are lacking.”

Jess Thorup (FC Augsburg coach): “We did not manage to take a step forward. Our objective is to win our matches. We didn’t do that today. We had two big opportunities at the end. We no longer had so much control in the second half. Unfortunately it is only a point, but if you cannot win then you have to live with a draw. Our home run is good and we’re still in the cup.”
