Newcastle and Manchester United are both interested in signing AS Roma forward Paulo Dybala, according to reports in Italy.

Dybala joined the Italian giants in the summer following the expiry of his Juventus contract.

The 29-year-old enjoyed a great start with the Giallorossi before suffering an injury in October.

Thankfully for the player, he returned to full fitness in time to be a part of Argentina’s World Cup-winning squad.

It has been a strong season for Roma, who are currently fourth in Serie A and take on RB Salzburg in the Europa League last 16 on Thursday.

Despite their stellar form and the fact Dybala only just joined, his future is uncertain.

News of a has resulted in plenty of rumours about a summer transfer.

Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, Tottenham and Arsenal have all been linked in the past and it would not be surprising to see their names all thrown in the mix once again. In fact, it is already happening…

According to Calciomercato, said release clause is ‘tempting’ some Premier League sides.

As mentioned prior, clubs from outside of Italy can buy Dybala for £10.6m (€12m), while it is believed that Italian clubs can sign him for €20m.

However, Roma do have the ability to get rid of the release clause by agreeing a contract with the former Juventus forward, with his salary expected to go from €4.5m to €6m per year.

This does come down to the player, and it is believed that he has two demands if he is to commit his future to the Giallorossi.

The two conditions in question are the future of manager Jose Mourinho, who Dybala wants to stay with, and if Roma qualify for the Champions League.

Both clubs have ‘already shown the first signs’ to bring in the 29-year-old Argentina international.

Dybala recently discussed his future at the Stadio Olimpico, insisting he is not unsure what will happen in the summer.

“The clause is a matter between my attorneys and the club, but I don’t know what will happen at the end of the season,” he said. “And if I don’t know what’s going to happen with me, let alone the coach, you have to ask him.

“I’d like to be coached by him because he’s one of the best and I’d like to win with him, but for now I’m only thinking about the match against Salzburg.

“I hope Roma play in the Champions League next season.”
