Pundit identifies perfect club for Kane and claims that new Tottenham deal wouldn’t ‘make sense’

Gabriel Agbonlahor thinks that Harry Kane should move on in the summer as he doesn’t think a new deal at Tottenham would “make sense” at this stage.

as his current deal is set to come to an end in 2024.

The England captain hasn’t let any of the noise distract him this season though as he has been in fine goalscoring form for Spurs.

Kane has scored 20 goals in all competitions, with 18 of those strikes coming in the Premier League.

Tottenham are trying to tie him down to a new long-term contract, but several huge clubs from around Europe have already expressed an interest in the forward.

Agbonlahor thinks that a move elsewhere would be best for Kane’s career as he is still in pursuit of his first trophy.

“Harry Kane’s got to leave in the summer, and if he doesn’t, and he signs a new deal, you’ve got to question Harry Kane,” the pundit told talkSPORT.

“If I’m him, I’m going to Manchester United, I’ll break Alan Shearer’s record by staying in the Premier League, he has to go.”

as Erik ten Hag is keen to sign another forward in the upcoming transfer window.

“Why would he want to stay?” Agbonlahor added. “I don’t understand. I know he loves Spurs, he’s broken the record there already for goals.

“But if you’re Harry Kane, you’re going away with England, and you’ve got players that have won a Champions League and banter about it, ‘oh what have you won?’.

“Harry Kane will be thinking, ‘I’m probably the best player here, why am I not winning trophies’.

“He’s at a club where they rest him for a game in the FA Cup, they’ve taken Sheffield United lightly, and they’ve been turned over.

The 29-year-old has not ruled out signing a new deal with Tottenham, but his decision could hinge on whether they qualify for the Champions League next season.

Antonio Conte’s side currently sit fourth in the Premier League, but they now have Liverpool hoving over their shoulder.

With Liverpool just three points behind Spurs with a game in hand, they will surely sense their opportunity to leapfrog them soon.

Kane’s future could also hinge on the managerial situation at the club as several names are currently being discussed as potential Conte replacements.
