Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly ‘suspects’ some of his Manchester United teammates are ‘underming’ him in the dressing room.

A report on Thursday revealed that the United stars barely noticed Ronaldo was absent from their celebrations against Tottenham after he flounced out of the stadium.

The Manchester Evening News claim most of the players still hold the striker in high regard but Ronaldo has grown suspicious.

The report states:

‘Dressing room sources do not believe there is any imminent threat of the players turning against Ronaldo as he is immensely respected. The young players at United idolise Ronaldo while senior British and overseas players marvel at his professionalism, his midweek misstep aside.

‘Sources say there is greater togetherness in the squad this season after the departure of certain players and do not expect that to be compromised by Ronaldo’s transgression.

‘Despite the squad harmony, Ronaldo suspects some teammates have attempted to undermine his standing in the dressing room, although Ronaldo questioned Maguire’s captaincy status last season in a meeting with interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

‘A number of United players had hoped Ronaldo would be sold in the summer but his agent, Jorge Mendes, failed to secure an exit route after Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Sporting Lisbon, AC Milan and Napoli passed on the offer.’

His teammates may not need put up with his antics for much longer as Mirror claim a potential swap deal has ’emerged’.

It’s ’emerged’ from them as pure speculation by the way, but anyway, they reckon United could offer Ronaldo in exchange for compatriot Joao Felix.

Spanish outlet AS have previously claimed United are one of three possible landing spots for Felix, as well as Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

The 22-year-old has grown frustrated at the style of football under Diego Simeone and his lack of game time and wants out in January.

And Mirror have taken it upon themselves to suggest Ronaldo could be used as bait to tempt Atletico into allowing Felix a transfer to Old Trafford.

Simeone was said to be keen on Ronaldo in the summer as the striker pushed for the United exit, but the club backed out before formal talks could take place as the fans protested against his signing.
