Real Madrid have reportedly had a ‘meeting in London’ with the ‘clan’ of Jude Bellingham ahead of Chelsea’s game against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

The race to sign Bellingham is hotting up ahead of the summer transfer window. Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City are all pursuing the teenager.

The 19-year-old’s spell at Dortmund has gone superbly as he has been one of their best players over the past couple of seasons. He has even captained the German side on several occasions this term.

He is now ready for the next step of his career and it looks likely that he will leave Dortmund this summer. They will at least earn a huge profit on Bellingham, with his contract not due to expire until 2025.

in recent months even with their troubles this season.

But Real Madrid are not giving up, with Foot Mercato reporting that a ‘summit meeting’ has been held between Real Madrid and the Bellingham clan’.

Real Madrid director Juni Calafat ‘has reunited with the father of the England midfielder from Dortmund’.

The meeting has taken place ‘at the Chelsea Harbor hotel in London’ ahead of Dortmund’s Champions League last-16 second leg against Graham Potter’s side at Stamford Bridge.

Calafat’s intention for this meeting is to ‘present Real Madrid’s project for the playmaker’. This fresh ‘offensive’ is said to ‘make sense’ as the Spanish giants have reportedly been made aware that Luka Modric will be leaving when his contract expires this summer.

Toni Kroos’ future is also uncertain so Bellingham could potentially form a new midfield three alongside Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni.

The report does not state whether Real Madrid should be considered the new favourites to sign Bellingham, but their lingering interest will no doubt be a worry for Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are looking to sign at least one midfielder this summer and Bellingham is their priority target.

Speaking earlier this week,

“He chose to join us because he knows this can be the perfect step for him and I think we’ve proven it both ways.

“He’s helping us a lot but I also think that we as a club on that stage are helping him and his career as well.

“We’re really happy and delighted that he is part of our team, he’s one of our leaders at the age of 19, he stepped through to the English national team as a player of BVB and this is something we’re really happy with.”
