Ole Werner: “It’s a huge disappointment because we put in a good away performance today. It’s frustrating for all of us and I feel sorry for the players. Everyone left everything on the pitch again. Yet again we didn’t manage to step up in the closing stages. Nevertheless, we can take a lot away with us. We defended well again against a Champions League contender for a long period, found our moments and were brave when we had the ball. It’s all the more frustrating when the results don’t match up. We have to take that with us and go for the next one.”

Marco Friedl: “I don’t know what to say. We played very well away from home for 80 minutes, only to concede two late goals again. We can take the effort with us, but it should be the case every week that we give everything. We deserved to take the lead, of course, Leipzig had more of the ball and created one or two chances, but we were also looking good going forward. When you’re leading for 80 minutes here, you have to take at least a draw with you. We didn’t manage that again.”

Marvin Ducksch: “The disappointment is huge. Every single player gave their all again and left everything on the pitch. We knew that it would be a very difficult game today and that we wouldn’t get too many opportunities. We wanted to do better than last week, and we did. We took the lead and made it 1-0 and defended it brilliantly until the 87th minute. In the end, we have come away empty handed again. It’s just so hard to believe that.”

Leonardo Bittencourt: “There’s a lot of frustration. We couldn’t manage to get a 1-0 lead over the line. If you concede once in in Leipzig, which can happen, you still take a point back home after a strong away performance. But we conceded two goals again. We have to defend until the end, otherwise there’s no point. I want to win games and we can’t do that right now. We have to be able to do that over 98 minutes.”
