Matthäi, who are headquartered in Verden (Aller), have been a partner of SVW since 2019 – first as a TEAM11 Partner, a patron and sleeve sponsor of the WERDER Football School and an official CSR partner of the club. They have helped to support countless social initiatives and activities organised by the club. Since the start of the 2022/23 season, Matthäi have been one of SV Werder’s TOP partners as well as helping run SPIELRAUM projects in Verden, thereby providing countless children and youth access to sport.

Following the end of the club’s 11-year shirt sponsorship with WIESENHOF, the Green-Whites will now be embarking down a new path. “We are very pleased that our partnership with Matthäi sees another local company join us as our main sponsor, and that we are now intensifying our cooperation with what has been a long-time partner for us,” said Klaus Filbry, CEO of SV Werder. “Matthäi stand for values such as sustainability, strong regional ties, respect for their employees and many other aspects that coincide with the values of SV Werder.”

The new partnership agreement was brokered by Werder’s marketing partner, international sports marketing agency Infront. Marco Sautner, managing director of Infront, said: “Going from a TEAM11 partner to a TOP partner and now to the club’s main sponsor – the development of the cooperation between Matthäi and Werder Bremen makes for a great story. It goes to show how important and valuable shared values are and how a successful partnership can develop. We wish them both the best for a successful partnership over the coming years.”

The management of the Matthäi Group also emphasised: “We are very much looking forward to further deepening the successful partnership of the past years and to give our support for Werder even greater significance in the coming years as the main sponsor. SVW and the Matthäi Group are united in the aspiration to develop something lasting, and this partnership is the beginning. Working together is a process, and achieving goals together is a success.

About Matthäi:

The Matthäi Group ranks among the biggest construction companies in northern Germany, with over 3,000 employees and more than 70 locations, and is successfully represented in all areas of construction. Matthäi brings this commitment to a spectrum and diversity into the partnership. Werder’s new main and shirt sponsor stands for excellent construction and engineering services and builds high-performance infrastructure that has provided the best services to people for generations. This claim to sustainability is reflected in all areas of the Matthäi Group: to always keep people first in mind in everything they do. This has shaped the internal cohesion of the group for decades, and Matthäi’s company promise also focuses on this idea: “You are one of us.” The unifying message behind this is clear: no matter how good you are as an individual we achieve our successes as a team.
