Winning start

It was an all-round successful start for the five Stuttgart players in the European Championship. Germany beat Scotland 5-1 in Friday’s opening match, with VfB left-back Maxi Mittelstädt playing the full 90 minutes in Munich while Waldemar Anton, Chris Führich and Deniz Undav watched from the bench. The following day, Switzerland also made a winning start in Group A with a 3-1 victory over Hungary. VfB defender Leonidas Stergiou came on in the 68^th minute with the score at 2-1.
