As ever, Union fans were asked to vote for their footballer of the year, and as last year, the primary keeper in Bo Svensson’s Bundesliga squad, Frederick Rönnow, has come out on top.
It’s not the first time for the Dane; he celebrated the title last year, previously held by Union captain Christopher Trimmel. Rönnow has been wearing the red and white jersey since the summer of 2021, making 33 Bundesliga appearances, two in the DFB Pokal and six in the Champions League last season.
So, Freddie will receive his honour as Union footballer of the season 2023/2024 at Saturday’s home game against Hoffenheim – which, incidentally, will also be his 100th competitive game for Union.
Second and third place this year go to Christopher Trimmel and Benedict Hollerbach.
