VfB’s last two encounters with Augsburg could hardly have been more memorable. At the Mercedes-Benz Arena in March last year, Stuttgart twice came from behind to claim a late 3-2 victory thanks to goals from Waldemar Anton, Omar Marmoush and Tiago Tomas. When the teams met earlier this season, VfB recovered from 1-0 down again as Anton struck in second-half stoppage-time to clinch a 2-1 triumph on home soil.
