Deniz Undav is back in Bad Cannstatt! Having expressed his desire to remain a VfB Stuttgart player, the 28-year-old striker is looking forward to scoring more goals for the club after completing a permanent move from English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion. “I expressed my wish several times during the second half of the season and am pleased it’s finally happened,” said Undav. “It’s a great feeling and I’m looking forward to the fans and the team.”
Undav didn’t see the majority of his old and new team-mates on Thursday as training had already finished, but he was able to pay the coaching staff a visit. “I always got on very well with everyone,” he continued. “I wanted to speak with the coach and thank him for his patience over the past few weeks. I’m now looking forward to my first training session with the team.”
The German international is hoping to feature in Saturday’s friendly against Athletic Club, which kicks off at 15:30 CEST. “It’d be nice to get a few minutes, as I can hardly wait to play in front of the VfB supporters again.”
