Ilaix Moriba will also play in Spain next season.
The 21-year-old is moving from RB Leipzig to Spanish First Division club Celta Vigo on loan for one season. Both clubs also agreed on a buy option for the midfielder.
Ilaix Moriba moved from FC Barcelona to the Red Bulls in the summer of 2021 as an 18-year-old and made six short appearances in his first six months at RBL. From January 2022 to June 2023, he played on loan for one and a half years at Valencia (46 games). Ilaix Moriba also played in Spain in the 2023/24 season and made 14 appearances for FC Getafe.
This summer, the Guinean national player took part in the Summer Olympics in Paris with his country, starting all three matches, but was eliminated with his team after three defeats in the group stage.
Sporting Director, Rouven Schröder:
- “Ilaix continues to be a player with great potential, as he showed both in Getafe and recently at the Olympic Games.
In order to be able to do this on a long-term basis, he must continue to gain regular playing time. Celta Vigo can offer him this opportunity. We wish him all the best for the coming year!”
