• “It was a deserved win based on how the game went. In the context of our season, the victory is important for us. Now we’ll prepare for the Man City game.

  Janis saving the penalty was important for us. I feel like the team sprung into life after that and then we ended up going ahead through Timo’s goal. If we had gone behind, the game could obviously have played out differently.”

• “The first half was quite close. Gladbach defended really well. We made things difficult for ourselves with simple mistakes in our passing, but in the second half we developed that cutting edge required to win the game.

  We’re third in the league now; in a part of the table where we deserve to be and want to be when you look at the quality in our team. We are the ones to blame for losing our grip on first place, but if we continue to work like we are now, perhaps we can start looking upwards.”
