Arthur Chaves left his Brazilian homeland to join Académico Viseu in Portugal in August 2022 and made a total of 58 competitive appearances (four goals) for the club in the second-highest Portuguese division and the national cup competition over the course of the last two years. Since making his debut for the Brazil U23 national team in January of this year, the central defender has so far played six games for the youth team of the “Seleçāo” and was a regular player for the Olympics qualification matches for Paris 2024, which Brazil’s U23s ultimately missed out on.
