FC striker Florian Dietz will be out for the long-term after suffering an ACL injury.

1. FC Köln will have to do without Florian Dietz for the foreseeable future. The striker suffered the injury in the final minutes of the home game against Hoffenheim and had to be brought off. On Monday afternoon, Dietz underwent an MRI scan and an ACL injury was diagnosed. The 24-year-old will undergo an operation on Wednesday afternoon. It will be performed by FC team doctor, Dr. Peter Schäferhoff and will therefore be unavailable in the coming months. 

“First and foremost, I really feel for Flo. But he is a real fighter. He fought back after his first knee injury and his serious shoulder problem with a real discipline. He’ll do that again and we will do everything to support him on his way. It is really bitter, that we’ve lost another player through no fault of our own,” said FC head coach, Steffen Baumgart.
