Attacker from Frankfurt
FC loan out Faride Alidou
1. FC Köln have loaned out Faride Alidou from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 22-year-old made 15 appearances in the Bundesliga in the past season for Eintracht (one assist), as well as featuring five times in the UEFA Champions League (one goal).
FC Managing Director, Christian Keller said: “Faride has a lot of potential. His strengths are his tempo, his willingness to run deep and to go into one-on-ones. Like every young player, Faride has areas where he needs to work on in order to reach a good, constant Bundesliga level. We have therefore shown him a clear plan, how we want to work with him and what he needs to bring to the table. There was an agreement on both sides. For that reason, we are pleased that Faride is now part of our team.”
Faride Alidou said: “FC showed me an honest perspective in our talks and explained what I need to work on to become a Bundesliga player. The fact that the club shows faith in young players was clear to see in the past two seasons. It was important for me to have a good feeling and, at the same time, it is huge motivation to player here and help FC to have a good Bundesliga season.”
Faride Alidou was born on 18th July 2001 in Hamburg. The Germany under-21 international started to play football at ESV Einigkeit Wilhelmsburg and took the next steps in his footballing development with the Hamburger SV academy. At HSV, Alidou made the leap to the first-team and in the 2021-22 season, made his debut under Tim Walter in October 2021 against Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 2. Bundesliga. In his first campaign, he made 23 appearances for Hamburg, scoring two goals and notching up seven assists before joining Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2022.
