Head coach Oliver Glasner: “We’re proud of the outstanding performance and disappointed with the result. The way we played in the second half, virtually pinning Dortmund back, was unbelievable. Sometimes the ruthlessness we had against Marseille, for example, just isn’t there. We made some bad decisions in front of their goal but we need to take a lot of strength and confidence from this disappointing defeat. I have no doubt that we’ll give it all we’ve got on Tuesday again.”
Jesper Lindström: “That’s football. It’s about scoring goals and Dortmund scored one more than us. We deserved to score more, though. If you can say that after playing a team like Dortmund then it says a lot about the way we played. Obviously we’re disappointed because we really wanted to win. But now we have to look forward right away to the game against Sporting on Tuesday.”
We put in another good performance after the difficult game on Wednesday.

Mario Götze: “Everything was right today, except the final score. We put in another good performance after the difficult game on Wednesday. It’s a shame we couldn’t make the most of our chances and that Dortmund were clinical. It wasn’t helpful to go behind twice. Gregor Kobel was sensational. But having said that, we should have done better with our chances and finished off the opportunities that arose from our counter-pressing.”
