Chris Richards headed in the opener after an assist from Giovanni Reyna (12’), with Folarin Balogun converting a second Reyna assist in the 35th minute. Under the care of interim head coach B.J. Callaghan, who will soon be replaced by the returning Gregg Berhalter, the USA successfully defended their Nations League title.
Scally was taken off in the 79th minute with a knock on what was his sixth competitive match and third start for the USMNT. Together with Reyna and Yunus Musah, Scally made history as the first 20-year-old trio to have started a final for the USA. Next up, both Canada and defending champions USA will prepare to take part in the Gold Cup from 24th June to 16th July.
