Following the hard-fought victory away to TSG Hoffenheim, Emre Can, Gregor Kobel, Julian Brandt and Nico Schlotterbeck shared their view of the match. The match reactions.

Emre Can (to BVB-TV): “It was a decent performance from us in the first half, we could’ve scored more than one goal; in the second, we were there for each other as we have been in the past few weeks too. There was a bit of luck involved too, but Hoffenheim were also lucky, especially in the first half. We have a world-class goalkeeper; we won fortuitously but also deservedly. It feels good to be at the top – but we know: this is only a momentary snapshot.”

Gregor Kobel (to BVB-TV): “The win was a bit too close for comfort but deserved. I’m proud we could keep the clean sheet. The support from the fans, feeling this passion, it does us all good.”

Julian Brandt (to Sky): We rode our luck, we’re very happy to take the points. There were a lot of chances at both ends. All in all, lots of things are working out at the moment: we’re efficient and we’re getting a slice of luck. We’ll take the momentum and try to keep riding the wave. However, we must keep our feet on the ground and remind ourselves that it’s still only February. There’s a long road with hard work ahead of us.”

Nico Schlotterbeck (to BVB-TV): “We defended reasonably well and kept a clean sheet again. Greg was on hand in the decisive situations. Then you take a 1-0 against an opponent that is by no means bad.”
