Tjark Ernst leaves VfL

Goalkeeper Tjark Ernst will leave VfL Bochum 1848 with immediate effect and join Hertha BSC. The parties have agreed not to disclose the amount of the transfer fee.

“Tjark Ernst approached us with the desire to change clubs. We have complied with his request and wish him all the best and good luck on his future path,” said Sebastian Schindzielorz, VfL Director of Sport. He regrets that “with Tjark Ernst, we lose a talented young player. However, he wants to play and we cannot fulfill this premise for him in view of the strong competitive situation at the goalkeeper position.”
