Sebastian Polter will leave VfL Bochum 1848 before his contract expires and move to FC Schalke 04. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose the amount of the transfer fee or any other details. Polter moved to Bochum on a free transfer from Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands at the start of last season. He scored eleven goals in 36 competitive games for VfL.
“After some discussions with the player, we consulted internally and made an assessment of the situation. After weighing all interests, we came to the decision to agree to the transfer,” said Sebastian Schindzielorz, Director of Sport at VfL Bochum 1848. “We would like to thank Sebastian Polter for his commitment and his part in keeping us in the league and wish him all the best.”
