Your VfL player of the season is has been decided! Manuel Riemann came out top in our fan vote. It was a clear choice for you too: almost half of the votes cast went to our number one, who has shown numerous terrific performances in his first ever Bundesliga season. Congratulations, Manu!
Over 5,000 VfL fans took part in the vote. The search was on for the successor to Robert Tesche, who secured the title of player of the season in the year of promotion. Now it’s his good buddy Manuel Riemann. 48% of the votes went to our ‘keeper. Second was Anthony Losilla, the capitano took 22.3% of the vote. The podium is completed by Elvis Rexhbecaj (7.7%), who will return to Wolfsburg in the summer after completing his one-year loan.
The entire team deserves it, because this Bundesliga season has been a great and long celebration. Manu, however, takes home the “trophy” by proxy. Many thanks to all VfL fans who participated. The winner of the merchandising package will be informed by mail. Good luck!
