FCA trigger option to buy Kristijan Jakić
Augsburg build towards the future
FC Augsburg have secured the services of Kristijan Jakić from Eintracht Frankfurt on a permanent basis after triggering an option to buy in the Croatian midfielder’s contract. The 27-year-old, who made 14 appearances for FCA in the second half of the season, scoring two goals and registering an assists, has signed a long-term contract with Augsburg that is valid until 30th June 2028.
“I’m glad that FCA have signed me on a permanent basis and that I’ll be able to stay in Augsburg beyond the end of this season. My expectations and hopes following my move in winter have been met. We’ve improved a lot as a team and I played my part in that. I’m convinced that this isn’t all we have to offer – we can still improve. That’s why I’m happy that I’m going to be an FCA player for the foreseeable future,” stated Kristijan Jakić.
“We’re over the moon that Kristijan Jakić has signed a long-term deal with us. Kristijan quickly slotted into the side following his move and proved to be a good fit for the team in terms of his personality and playstyle. He’s ambitious, wants to keep on improving and is committed to helping us take FCA to the next level,” said sporting director Marinko Jurendić.
